I can! I can hear (and see) you!!!! I’ve been smiling and laughing all day long! With visions of pompoms, cheerleader outfits, shoulder stands, splits, cartwheels, handstands and dancing dogs vivid in my mind’s eye, it’s easy to hear the shouts and cheers from all of you! Thank you so much!!
Well - I was unhooked from my LAST Taxol treatment at 7:55 p.m. tonight! I’ve been thinking a lot about what this means to me. I’ve managed 12 weekly treatments of chemotherapy, and I’m still feeling well. I have to believe that walking, drinking lots of fluids, eating more fruits and vegetables than usual, taking pain meds when I need them, laughing, staying involved in my life and facing this head on and out in the open has helped me get through the last three months. It’s also made a huge difference to me to feel so supported. When I read e-mails, chat in person, talk on the phone and get hugs, I feel surges of positive energy that I know are benefiting me.
Although I’m anxious about starting the new chemo drugs next Friday night, (I’ll likely experience greater extremes of the same side effects I’ve had so far), I’m counting on all that I’ve done while going through Taxol to continue to serve me well. I’m also comforted to know that my cheerleading squad – (oh, what a visual) – will be at the ready, if necessary, to help lift me over this next hurdle.
Lots of love to all! Lisa

Congratulations!! Your friends at Arnold are so happy for you. If you look real hard, you can see us doing the wave! That's a prettier sight than all of us jumping up and down in cheerleader outfits.
Hi Lisa! I couldn't wait to get online and catch up with the latest in your life. I have lived in wedding "fog" all summer and feel like I am once again in the real world! J's wedding was just beautiful last weekend and it is hard to believe it is all over. You have been constantly on my mind this summer and you sound wonderful and full of wit and life as always. I have really missed you, and I can't wait to give you a big hug. Hope to see you soon. Love, V.

RAH RAH! Well, I was a cheerleader, but that was MANY years ago! (Too many to count!) So, I dusted off my uniform, pompoms and miniskirt! WOW my husband won't know what hit him!!
I am cheering for you, and still praying of course. Congrats on making it through your 12 weeks. I wish you all the best for the next round!
LISA LISA SHE'S OUR WOMAN! CAN SHE DO IT? YES SHE CAN!! XOXO, MKP
WONDERFUL NEWS We've been much off email this summer, but finally just checked in to discover that you've made it through Round One and made it with great fortitude and success. Three cheers for you. You may be tired of hearing how remarkable you and your journal are, but it's nonetheless the case. You're inspiring.
We've just heard on Chicago NPR that if we all do nothing to address global warming, by the year 2050, Chicago will have the same climate as Houston. The only good thing about this news is the possibility that maybe Houstonians will come north *with* the climate, though the radio didn't mention this. One can always hope. Love, E. & N.
