A note from Mary Hawn and Kelly Millenbah
TEAM MILLENBAH RACES FOR THE CURE!
We know that Lisa has found great comfort from your notes on CarePages and the many cards, letters, phone calls and personal visits she’s received, so we thought it would be fun to bring everyone together to celebrate Lisa and her support network. In honor of Lisa, we’ve created “Team Millenbah” with hopes that you’ll join the team at Sam Houston Park in Houston, TX on Saturday, October 6, 2007 to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
"Team Millenbah" is devoted to Lisa and her survivorship. Not only do we want to support and encourage Lisa by turning out and participating in the Race for a Cure, but we also want to raise money to fund vital education, screening and treatment programs and to contribute funds that will help find a cure for breast cancer.
You can help us reach our goal of $25,000 by registering as part of "Team Millenbah" (option 1 below) or by supporting the team's efforts with a pledge contribution (option 2 below). You can also join the celebration by being a cheerleader along the race course. In case you’re not walking or running in the race, you’ll be able to root for “Team Millenbah.”
We’re really looking forward to this event! We’ll send out more information about “Team Millenbah” events as we approach race day. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Lisa.
If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact us.

Great idea! Thank you, Kelly and Mary, for creating Team Millenbah. I'm in. I'll be there to run or walk on October 6 (sleep in?? I don't think so!) As a friend who is physically far away, there have been many times, Lisa, that I wonder if I could be doing more for you. You're my first friend with cancer (congratulations???) and there don't seem to be any self-help books that tell me how to reach out. Do I let you know I'm here and you can contact me when you need me? Do I just show up on your doorstep? (Don't worry, I wouldn't really go to that extreme).. am I bugging you? Not bugging you enough??? I honestly don't know!
What I need you to know is that I am here for you anytime. Call in the middle of the night if you just need to hear a friend's voice. (Remember, I've got nothing but time-it's summer!) Or don't call! Whatever is best for YOU. But please know I think of you every day, and I will do anything to help you put up the good fight. For now, it feels so good to know I can be part of Team Millenbah! I love you, my friend, and I am so proud of your strength and your loving, caring ways. C.
Hola from the Hawkeye State I'm on "vacation" in Iowa, and you're still on my mind. So nice to be visiting my sister and her family - I know you can relate. C., C., and R. have been given rides on combines, tractors, and lawnmowers; we've eaten beef every night; we caught a whole jar of lightning bugs to see them glow; we've eaten garden cabbage, squash, and zucchini; we saw a high school baseball game where everyone knew us; we've adjusted to the smell of farms; we know the difference between corn and bean fields...I could bore you more by going on and on and on...I'm loving it. :) We're heading to Minnesota next week (another exotic locale) for our family fishing trip. We have so many people going, we're running short of cabin space. LOVE IT. All this is about me...what a dorky post. Talk to you soon. Love, D.
Hello Just thinking of you and sending lots of hugs. What a blessing that Ethan loves you so much and feels so comfortable being able to speak his mind and share in this journey with you. My kids haven't been having as much fun as D's are having riding tractors in Iowa, but they did give me a run for my money on all the roller coasters at Disney World. They even tolerated standing in line to get the princess's (correct punctuation???) autographs and pictures with me. Gotta love boys! Thinking of you often and praying for you continuously, K.W.
